Byron D. Powell, (First Sergeant, Army) AKA (DJ Sag E. Tarius) served 20+ years in the Army and retired honorably. His tours include Fort Jackson, SC, Fort Gordon, GA, Mainz Finthen Army Airfield Germany, Fort Bragg, NC and Fort Carson, CO. His combat tours were Operation Desert Storm/Shield Saudi Arabia and Operation Enduring Freedom OEF 10-11 Afghanistan. During his time in service, he earned the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Numerous Army Accommodation Medals to include Army Achievement Medals and Good Conduct Medals.

After serving his country, he assumed positions with USAA and Tricare. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Science in Management and later completed his master’s degree in Business Administration, graduating the top of his class with a 3.94 GPA.

He followed his passion for broadcasting by obtaining a position with Military Broadcast Radio as DJ Sag E. Tarius. His radio show is “Reset with DSET” and is aired Mondays and Fridays 1pm Mountain Time, “Music Variety, Nothing but Old School” and enrolled in Colorado Media School.

Byron is a proud husband, married to Karen and proud Father of two sons and three daughters.
